This page keeps nothing
The photograph is held in memory while it is being read and then dropped. It is not saved to disk, the marking is not written to any record, and nothing here is linked to a student, a class or a school. Close the tab and it is gone.
That is deliberate. Everywhere else in Qalami a piece of work belongs to a school that has agreed to hold it. Work uploaded here belongs to nobody, so the only honest thing to do with it is not keep it.
What it marks against
One fixed rubric — the general writing rubric a new assessment starts from, four criteria out of sixteen marks. With an account you set your own criteria and descriptors, and the marking follows them.

You can tell it the year group and the curriculum below, and it marks against what that year is expected to do. It is still not told the task the student was set — there is no assignment here to read one from — so it works out what was asked from the writing itself.

Set the level (optional)
Marking a Grade 4 piece against a Grade 9 standard is the mistake this avoids. Leave both unset and it judges the writing on its own terms.

An account gives you your own rubric, a class of students, marks you approve before anyone sees them, and a report per pupil and per class. It takes an email address and no card.
